The statistics are shocking! Depending on which report you might read, anywhere between 61-88% of teens are estimated to have left the church soon after their 18th birthday. Many parents, pastors, and young people themselves claim to have the solution to the mass exodus, often with conflicting opinions. One thing is for sure, the past youth ministry culture of entertainment and gimmicks has done nothing to arrest the decline. Dodge-ball, fog machines, iPod incentives and chubby bunnies have not proved to be the solution!

So, what is the answer? More than ever, we’re convinced that there is only one thing that has the potential to bring lasting change in our young people’s lives – the gospel of Jesus Christ. And, what we need more than ever is youth leaders enthused, equipped and trained to teach this gospel faithfully, clearly and creatively to young people.

That’s where ‘Building to Grow’ comes in. On Thursday 22nd February 2018, we’re launching this new interdenominational training course for youth leaders (employed and volunteers) to help them keep the Bible at the centre of their ministry and equip them to teach it with increasing effectiveness. Please do share these details with leaders in your community and network who may benefit from such a course.
