CIYD partners with Missional Generation. Virtual reality (VR) is where you enter in to either a filmed environment or a digital environment that you can explore and interact with. Using a VR headset and a smartphone you can get a 360° perspective of a film or image helping you to take in the whole environment and a fuller perspective.

CIYD have produced Virtual Reality tours of St Brigid’s Cathedral in Kildare and St Columba’s Church in Drumcliffe.

Augmented reality (AR) is where you bring something into your reality using a smartphone or tablet that allows you to interact with objects, environments or characters. A number of resources are available, during Advent last year we piloted 12 Revelations of Christmas which takes the user on a journey to Christmas using Augmented Reality. Watch out for a new interactive resource at Pentecost for ‘Thy Kingdom Come’.

New resources and experiences are coming on stream all the time, CIYD intends to be at the forefront of this in Ireland.
